Overview of internet satisfaction and availability in Delaware
Delaware has excellent broadband coverage, with approximately 97% of homes having access to speeds of 250Mbps and above. The state’s ISP roster is nothing to sneeze at either, packed with top-rated customer favorites.
The aforementioned Xfinity and Verizon are the primary internet providers in Delaware, both of which get excellent ratings in our annual customer satisfaction survey. Xfinity’s cable internet is the most widely available throughout the state, except for a southeastern coverage gap that includes Millsboro and Long Neck. But, customers in those areas can still get cable internet through Mediacom.
Verizon provides most of Delaware’s fiber internet connections. Verizon is available in the Wilmington area and the northern part of the state. Coverage thins out south of Dover, but there are still pockets of fiber coverage in the Long Neck, Hollyville, and Bridgeville areas. Other areas may also have fiber internet via regional ISPs.
Delawareans can get 5G fixed-wireless internet through T-Mobile (rated highest overall in our customer satisfaction survey) and Verizon (rated highest for reliability). Satellite internet is available from Hughesnet, Viasat, and Starlink.
Internet providers received an average satisfaction rating of 3.8 out of 5 stars from customers in Delaware.
That ranks Delaware 14th nationwide for internet customer satisfaction.
