How To Pay Your Cox Bill

These are the 5 different ways you can pay your Cox internet bill

Cox has no shortage of payment methods: You can pay in the Cox app, in your online Cox account, via chat, on the phone, or even in-person or by snail mail. If you’re in a hurry and haven’t set up your account in the Cox app or on the Cox website, you can pay your bill using the Cox chat feature online—all you need is the 10-digit phone number associated with your account and your payment details. Going forward, the best way to pay is via the Cox app with Easy Pay enabled; that way you won’t have to stress remembering to pay your bill each month.

Paying your bill using the Cox app

The Cox mobile app provides the easiest way to pay your bill if you’ve already registered your account—if you’re looking to make a one-time payment without registering, we recommend paying via chat on the Cox website. The app also lets you set up automatic payments with Cox Easy Pay, so you won’t need to stress remembering to make your payment each month.

Step 1:  Tap Billing.

Step 2: Tap the payment button under Home Services Bill. (Your screen may look different if you haven’t enabled Easy Pay.)

Step 3: Enter the amount.

Step 4: Select your payment method.

Step 5: Select the date.

Step 6: Tap Agree and submit to complete your payment.

Make a one-time payment using Cox chat

If you’re in a hurry, make a payment via the chat feature on the Cox website. This method doesn’t require you to set up your online Cox account or to wait in a queue. The process is automated via the Cox virtual assistant, Oliver, so you won’t be communicating with a human—fortunately, the feature works well regardless.

Step 1:  Navigate to the Cox Contact Us page in a web browser.

Step 2: Click the chat icon in the lower-right corner.

Step 3: Select Pay My Bill.

Step 4: Enter the phone number associated with your account.

Step 5: Make a selection from the carousel; click the arrow to see additional options.

Step 6: Follow the remaining prompts to complete your payment.

Pay by phone

Cox’s support phone number can be found on the Cox Contact Us page, beneath a call support link near the bottom of the page. At the time of writing, the contact number is +1-866-867-7644 and billing services are reachable on weekdays between 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Since it’s likely that number will change and may be location-specific, we show you how to find the number on Cox’s site below:

Step 1:  Navigate to the Cox Contact Us page in a web browser.

Step 2: Scroll down until you see the Call Support callout (about three-quarters of the way down the page) and click the See Contact Info link.

Step 3: A dialog box opens that displays the Cox support phone number and hours of operation.

Pay in person

You can pay in person at a Cox store or submit a cash payment at one of several third-party locations.

How to find your nearest Cox store

Step 1:  Navigate to the Cox Contact Us page in a web browser.

Step 2: Scroll down until you see the Visit a Cox Store callout (about halfway down the page), and click the Find a Cox Store button.

Other places you can pay your Cox bill in person

  • CheckFreePay (located inside Walmart)
  • Western Union (payments take three to five days to process)
  • MoneyGram
  • Fidelity Express

Pay by mail

If needed, you can use snail mail to pay your Cox bill. Detach the payment coupon from your bill and send it with your payment so Cox can properly process your payment. If you don’t have the payment coupon, you should include your Cox account number.

Step 1:  Navigate to the Cox Contact Us page in a web browser.

Step 2: Scroll all the way to the bottom and you’ll see the current payment mailing address below a large label.
