Windstream subsidiary Kinetic is one of the fastest-growing internet service providers that has made a lot of progress and continuous efforts toward bringing both reliable and fast internet speeds to various areas across the country. Kinetic’s fiber footprint is expanding
Currently, Kinetic offers DSL internet across most of its 18-state footprint. However, it aims to deliver fiber internet with gigabit speeds to a majority of its customers over the next several years. In North Carolina alone, Kinetic expects to introduce gigabit speeds to 1,392 unserved locations by the end of 2026. Kinetic’s mission to enhance connectivity in under-served communities includes both residential and small business customers.
Meet Kinetic’s new 100Mbps offering
Kinetic’s new 100Mbps plan is available to new customers in certain areas for only $24.99. It’s not only cheaper than its DSL counterpart, but it also offers double the upload speed. For a very reasonable price, you get a plan that offers symmetrical speeds, a whole-home Wi-Fi setup, no annual contracts, no data caps, and no installation fees. What a steal, right? There’s a catch.
The standard rate isn’t quite so cheap
While the reliability of fiber internet is a major benefit to Kinetic’s 100Mbps plan, the alluringly low price of $24.99 doesn’t last forever. After a year, the price increases to $49.99. This hefty post-promo price increase is what we normally see with cable internet, not fiber internet. We will always tell you to carefully read the fine print when it comes to signing up for internet service, especially when promotional pricing is involved.
If you have no problem switching providers after a year, Kinetic’s new 100Mbps may help you temporarily save on internet costs.
How does Kinetic compare against competitors?
With Kinetic’s 100Mbps plan, a price increase of $25 after 12 months is no joke, especially if you’re on a tight budget. Take a look at how Kinetic stacks up against its major competitors.
