Starlink added a new plan to the Roam lineup, offering 300GB of data for $80 per month. Before, customers only had two Roam options: either 100GB or unlimited data with a $115 price difference. Now, there’s a plan in the middle for users who need more than 100GB of data but want to pass on the $165 price tag of the unlimited plan.
Let’s dive into Starlink’s new Roam plan and how it shakes up Starlink’s portable internet plan lineup.

New Roam 300GB plan
The new Roam 300GB plan is a great option for travelers, RVers, campers, or those looking for a portable internet plan for working on the go. The new plan sits right between the speeds and prices of the 100GB and Unlimited plans. You’ll get triple the data compared to the base plan, but you’ll be paying $85 less compared to the pricey Unlimited plan. Let’s take a look at the new plan lineup.
| Plan | Price* | Data cap |
|---|---|---|
| Roam 100GB | $50/mo. | 100GB |
| Roam 300GB | $80/mo. | 300GB |
| Roam Unlimited | $165/mo. | Unlimited |
* Availability and speed may vary by location, and prices are subject to change. See disclaimers.
Starlink’s new Roam lineup almost mirrors the Residential lineup in terms of price, but the Roam Unlimited plan is $45 more expensive than the Residential Max plan. If you’ve been eyeing Starlink’s Roam plans for portable internet, you’ll now have more options to choose from. Starlink’s plans are flexible and can be activated only when you need them. Let’s go over Starlink’s Standby option.
Pause Roam plans anytime with Standby mode
You can pause and unpause your Roam service as needed with Standby mode. Your dish will still provide unlimited low-speed data of up to 500Kbps, but only for emergency use. You will have to pay a small fee of $5 per month on Standby Mode, but it’s a great option for those who don’t need to use a Roam plan year-round.
Get a 30-day trial with Starlink
No matter how flexible Starlink’s plans are, the hefty equipment cost and plan prices are still a big financial commitment.
Luckily, you can try any Starlink plan, including all Roam plans, for 30 days. It’s a great opportunity to test out Starlink and get an idea of how the service performs while you’re traveling, camping, or road-tripping in your RV.
If the plan you choose is not up to par, you can cancel and get a refund. But if you end up loving Starlink’s service, you can enjoy a flexible and portable internet plan that can be paused and activated at your command.
