AT&T Mobile Customers Can Get Six Months of Free Fiber Internet

Qualify for the $480 discount by adding a new unlimited phone plan

Christmas is coming early for AT&T customers, and it could mean six months of free gig speed internet. Starting today, Oct. 1, customers can qualify for the deal by adding a new unlimited wireless plan from AT&T Mobile and buying a new device on an installment plan. The deal is good through Jan. 6 of 2025.

The everyday price of gig speed fiber internet from AT&T is $80 per month, making this sweet deal worth nearly $500. If you qualify, you’ll get a refund on the internet price by way of a reward card, but you’ll still be responsible for taxes and fees.

Can you get AT&T fiber where you live?

Enter your zip code to see if you qualify for six months of free internet.

Unlimited mobile from AT&T

AT&T offers three mobile phone plans with unlimited data plus two unlimited plans that come with mobile hotspot data. In addition to unlimited data, you get unlimited talk and text between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, plus unlimited texting to more than 200 countries.

The plans run on AT&T’s expansive 4G LTE and 5G networks, and you benefit from both mid-band and high-band 5G+. That means whether you’re trying to connect in an office building, city street, or high-traffic area like a sports stadium, you’re covered.

Further out, you will connect through AT&T’s 4G LTE network—the biggest in the U.S. Check AT&T coverage.

AT&T unlimited mobile plans and prices

PlanHotspot data capSingle-line price
AT&T Unlimited Starter® SL 5GB$65.99/mo.
AT&T Unlimited Premium® PL 60GB$85.99/mo.
AT&T Unlimited Extra® EL 30GB$75.99/mo.

You never have to pay for data overages with AT&T Mobile, but your speeds may be slowed if there’s congestion. If you go with the Unlimited Starter plan, you’re subject to slower speeds and increased latency any time the network is busy.

If you’re on an Unlimited Extra plan, though, you can use 75GB of data per month before your speeds are slowed.

If you reach 75% of your limit, you’ll get a message from AT&T.

Do you need unlimited mobile phone data?

The truth is, most people won’t get anywhere close to those data limits with normal cell phone use. The real benefit of unlimited mobile plans with AT&T are sweet bundle deals and plenty of hotspot data in case you need to connect tablets and laptops when you don’t have access to fast Wi-Fi.

If you already have a device you love and solid internet service, you may want to consider wireless plans from budget companies that piggyback on AT&T’s network, including Boost Wireless, Cricket Wireless, and Consumer Cellular. We usually recommend mobile plans with about 10GB of data unless you spend most of your time out of range of Wi-Fi.

Device deals from AT&T

Buying a mobile phone directly from your service provider is convenient, and could be a good way to save money. Prices and discounts change all the time, but here are some of the promotions we’ve had our eye on:
