Starlink refreshed its Residential plan lineup by reintroducing the Residential 100Mbps plan in select areas. The Residential lineup now includes three plans total, ranging from 100 to 400Mbps. Plus, the new Residential MAX plan comes with complementary equipment and deals we’ve never seen with Starlink’s Residential plans.
Let’s dive into all the Starlink changes that took place last week.
Changes to Starlink Residential plans
Starlink’s refreshed Residential plan lineup now includes three plans that range from 100 to 400Mbps—which is exactly where the plan lineup was in November, when Starlink introduced the Residential 100 Mbps plan and then pulled it from the lineup shortly thereafter.
Overall, the Residential MAX plan replaces the Residential plan, while Residential 200 Mbps replaces the Residential Lite plan. The Residential 100 Mbps plan is back with the same name, but the monthly price is $10 more expensive than when it was introduced.
The new plan names aren’t the only update we’re seeing. The Residential 200 Mbps plan includes a lower speed cap than its predecessor, the Residential Lite plan, which capped at 250Mbps for the same price. The price and speed of the fastest Starlink Residential plan didn’t change, but there are a few new perks and deals included with this plan that we’ll dive into.
Starlink Residential plans
| Plan | Price | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Residential 100 Mbps | $50/mo.* | Up to 100Mbps |
| Residential 200 Mbps | $80/mo.* | Up to 200Mbps |
| Residential MAX | $120/mo.* | Up to 400Mbps |
* Plus hardware, shipping & handling fees, and tax. Fully refundable. Depending on location, some orders may take 2 weeks or more to fulfill.
Residential MAX plan includes new bonus perks
The Residential MAX plan includes a Gen 3 Router and a Router Mini for better in-home Wi-Fi coverage at no extra cost. Residential MAX customers are also now eligible to redeem a free Starlink Mini for travel and half-off Roam plans, making it a solid deal for those who also want to take their Starlink internet on the go.
The Residential MAX plan has the highest network priority for the Residential plans. It’s the best option for larger households or those who expect to do a lot of high-bandwidth internet activities like playing games online, streaming, or downloading large files.

Residential 200 Mbps replacing Residential Lite plan
Like the old Residential Lite plan, the new Residential 200 Mbps isn’t available nationwide just yet. The price for this plan hasn’t changed either, sitting at $80 per month with speeds capped at 200Mbps. The Residential 200 Mbps plan also includes a Gen 3 Router, but is a lower priority in the Starlink network queue during peak traffic hours compared to the Residential MAX plan.
The Residential 200 Mbps plan is still a great option for those with average internet needs and those who need a more affordable option. You’ll still get up to 200Mbps, which will provide plenty of speed for most.
The return of the Residential 100 Mbps plan
The Residential 100 Mbps plan was briefly introduced about two months ago and shortly discontinued. Now, it’s back, but slightly more expensive than its previous $40-per-month price. Though it’s still only available in select areas, you can get up to 100Mbps speeds from Starlink for $50 per month.
While it may not be as cheap as it was initially, Residential 100 Mbps is still Starlink’s most affordable plan and a good option for small households with basic internet needs or those on a tight budget.

Starlink is still a solid choice for satellite internet
While this isn’t the first and certainly not the last update to Starlink’s satellite internet plans this year already, Starlink’s value remains. Starlink is the fastest-growing satellite internet provider and the fastest satellite and portable internet option, making it an invaluable option for those with little to no internet provider options.
But we know that constant changes can be frustrating for customers, especially with an ever-evolving provider like Starlink. Be sure to keep an eye out for special pricing and discounts to find out exactly how much Starlink will cost in your area. But if you are looking for a fast internet satellite or portable internet, Starlink is the way to go.
