Over the summer, Starlink discounted its standard receiver kit from $599 down to $299. That deal was good until Oct. 6, but one day later, Starlink rolled out a new manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP): $349 plus taxes.
Some customers will see the $349 at checkout, but in highly congested areas, customers will see an additional $100 fee in their digital cart, bringing their total to $449. Starlink hopes to stop charging the one-time fee as its capacity in those areas improves.
Starlink temporarily offered a $100 discount in certain high-capacity areas, but ended the deal on October 9.
The only way to know if you’ll be charged the extra $100 is to enter your address, but the following states had been identified as high-capacity so the charge is less likely there:

The standard kit includes a receiver dish, stand, cables, and a separate router. You can add special mounts to your order, but they cost extra.
To see final charges where you live, enter your address on the Starlink homepage and select your options.
