Do not get any of the services from this company if you are rural. Their service and the products are of poor quality and of a low standard. They should be ashamed to charge so much for what you get. You will not be able to even pay your bill to them by internet without aggravation because of how slow the speed is.

Viasat is hands down the absolute worst possible choice for internet anywhere. I had faster and more dependable DSL 20+ years ago than viasat has in 2021. The service goes out with hardly a cloud in the sky and if it's raining you might as well just read a book because you're not using the internet. Even before you exceeded your data cap, which you will in just a few days, you're lucky if you can stream Netflix without it buffering every 5 min. After your data cap is surpassed the rest of the month will be beyond frustrating. Sometimes it will function during the day while most people a at work but after 5pm you'll be lucky if you can send an email. Don't even think about trying to watch a TV show or movie with it. And for all this you get the privilege of paying 4X what you would pay for 10X the speed with any other service. If Viasat (or Hughes net) is your only option just move, it will be less frustrating.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Archer? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
