What people really say about Viasat
Who knows Viasat better than the people who use it every day? Reading customer reviews can be a crucial step when choosing an internet provider. You get useful insights into common issues people have with their service and you get insider info about the pros and cons (ok, mostly cons) of a service. Though sorting through angry reviews might dent your confidence in a company, you can learn a lot about what to expect from customer service, billing practices, and the best ways to fix problems if you run into them. Just remember to take them with a grain of salt.
“From my long term experience with various sat internet providers Exede/Viasat is by far the best available option in my rural area.”

“It’s slow. When sold to me, I was told I could watch Netflix, no problem. It’s horrible.”

“This is not much faster than the old AOL dialup speed and really lacks for surfing or gaming.”

This company exudes incompetence, poor service, and is scamming customers out of money because you are well aware that the “service” you claim to provide is nonexistent. I can’t wait for the day when the other service provider completes their tower setup so I can stop being taken advantage of. You are scheduled for service and receive notification it has to be rescheduled because of vehicle trouble. Trash internet service provider providing trash service to clients in rural areas with limited options.

Viasat told me that they were launching a new satellite and soon I would have 5G. Well, they launched the satellite, and I got 5G for about 2 months and it went away. I call and was told that our community wasn't large enough to get 5G and they had given our faster service to a larger community. Then, every time they gave me some "advanced service" I lost my metered time and soon didn't cover the month. I had to pay more and more, or fall to a snails pace for the remainder of the month. I ended up on the highest service plan they offered, and I still ran out of time. Now, I just couldn't understand how two over 70 year old women that did not watch movies or play fancy games online could possibly use that much time. Viasat couldn't explain that to me either. The crowning blow was when I got a notice that they were phasing out my plan and moving me to a plan of their choosing. It was the same speed that the other, unavailable to me, providers cheapest plans and it would cost me $20 more a month. I am no longer a Viasat customer. The funny part was when they demanded that I climb on the roof of my home to retrieve a part they wanted back. At 77 years old, my roof climbing days were long over. They were rude to me when I told them where they could put that part. They charged me $278 because it wasn't returned. I would give up my computer if I had to go back to Viasat.

They took so much money that wasn’t owed and leave you on the phone for hours there internet is absolutely aweful. They smart enuff to only take enuff that I would loose more taking them to court than to get my money back. Please do not use

Very slow internet and so called high speed will run out quickly.Worst experience ever. Even when I cancelled service they charged me for a full month. They said I cancelled on first day and still charge for a full month

Viasat said we used 40 gigabytes in 2 days. We endured 2 years of their bull. Every month we would have used up our 70 gigs in the first 2 weeks and then have to try to use the internet at a speed slower than dialup. for this we were paying over $100 a month. Of course they were willing to sell us more data or upgrade us to a more expensive plan. I do not recommend this especially if you want to stream Hulu or Netflix because it just won't work without paying for their deluxe service. My new provider is better and 30% cheaper.

Their service is terrible. Cannot stream video without pixelating and lag. Even music cuts out. I’ve never had such slow and bad service.

Very slow. Impossible to download large files. Graphics frequently do not build due to speed. Only use as it is all that is available. Prices are ridiculously high for the level service. Anxiously awaiting something better in this rural area.
