XFINITY

Everything consistently gets worse with Xfinity. They jack up the prices, the service continuously cuts out, and getting a competent person--or even a human being--to interact with you is next to impossible. If you have a problem or complaint, nobody wants to hear or deal with it. I'm nervous about trying something other than broadband, but I am being forced to find some other option. I've had this service for years and it just keeps getting worse. Over the past 12 hours, my service went out, the system and the chat agents made me unplug and plug in my modem five times, the chat service went down, the system claimed suddenly that there was an outage in my area and they'd text when it was resolved and I could text "OUTAGE" for updates--but then when I did all it said was to contact them--I got repeated text messages responding to a nonexistent request to schedule a tech visit, a guy on the phone said there had been no outages in my area and that it was just a "courtesy" that Comcast was notifying me of an outage somewhere nearby, but there were problems with my modem, which somehow magically disappeared while we were on the phone, and then when I protested that I could not get a straight answer from anybody, he transferred my call without warning to someone who was, I guess, authorized to change my services/billing/something like that. This is their newest tactic--the agents just randomly transfer you to someone else when they're done talking to you, without warning, ESPECIALLY if you say you are going to hang up. (I've had this happen multiple times.) Xfinity will compromise your mental health. At this point I'd happily pay twice as much for less mental strain, but there are new options available in my area for which I would pay half as much. So I'm considering it. There has to be something better than this mess.
