Starlink rolled out an activation benefit for new customers that adds an extra $50 discount to the Starlink Mini’s current $249 price tag. That brings the price down to just $199, which is a great deal, but you’ll need to sign up for a Roam plan for at least one month.
If you’ve been eyeing Starlink’s Roam plans, now’s your chance to snag a sweet deal on the Mini. Let’s break down Starlink’s newest offer and what to expect when signing up for this offer.

New customers can qualify by activating a new roam plan
You’ll need to be a new customer in the U.S. to be eligible for this offer. To qualify for the activation benefit, you’ll need to start a service plan within 30 days of purchasing your Mini or face Starlink charging whatever you used as a payment method for the value of the $50 activation benefit. This is a new requirement since Starlink doesn’t typically require you to sign up for a plan to purchase equipment on sale.
The extra activation discount is only available for customers who purchase a Starlink Mini directly from Starlink’s website. Also, keep in mind that transfer kits aren’t available for this extra benefit if you buy your Mini from a seller who transfers the equipment to your account. Let’s take a look at the plans you’ll need to sign up for in order to snag a discounted Mini.
Starlink Roam plans
| Plan | Price | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Roam 100GB | $50/mo.* | Up to 300Mbps |
| Roam Unlimited | $165/mo.* | Up to 300Mbps |
* Plus hardware, shipping & handling fees, and tax. Fully refundable. Depending on location, some orders may take 2 weeks or more to fulfill.
Starlink offers two Roam plans, and there’s a pretty hefty price difference between the two. You’ll want to sign up for the plan that best fits your needs—and more importantly, your budget. You’re already dropping $200 on equipment, albeit with a generous discount attached, but if you sign up for the Roam Unlimited plan, you’re looking at a $365 total for your first month. Ouch.
But if you do want to get the most out of your new Mini and you’re looking to use a lot of data, the Unlimited plan will be worth the investment. If you’re just looking for the cheapest plan, the 100GB plan will be the way to go.
