Missoula Residential Internet Coverage

Missoula is the second largest community in Montana. Homes there are among the most expensive in the state. The white-collar residents work largely in office support and food service. It's also a college town with well-educated, middle income residents. In general, Montana residents enjoy life without high-speed internet. Only 23% of Montana residents have access to high-speed internet. The rate is slightly higher in Missoula at 32%.

Charter has a monopoly on cable internet service in the area and reaches 100% of the city. DSL users have two options. CenturyLink offers DSL to 98% of Missoula homes while Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative, Inc. reaches 28% of residents along I-90 with DSL.

Businesses in the area have an additional connection option. Level 3 Communications currently reaches 1% of commercial users with fiber optics.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced and that's saying a lot in this day and age. My 92-year-old mother's land line has been intermittently down for close to a month. It is her only link to the outside world. There was one appointment where they said it was fixed. It wasn't. The other appointments that were scheduled for "between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m." (how's that for a window) they never showed. Their website is a joke and there's really no way you can talk to a human being unless you're willing to stay on hold for an hour. There are at least two days of my life I'll never get back trying to get them to fix this. I have a half dozen other complaints but needless to say, we'll be switching providers.

I’ve never once reached the internet speed that I pay for. Spectrum has a monopoly over Montana and have absolutely terrible service and customer service. The internet just randomly goes out all the time and like I previously stated, it never reaches the speed I pay for

I pay for 500 mbs and not once has my internet speed ever reach anywhere close to that. The customer service is terrible and the internet speed is constantly going in and out.
