Shreveport Residential Internet Coverage

As one of the most populated cities in Louisiana, Shreveport has many established internet service providers that make diverse service plans available to residents and businesses.

One of the most expansive companies in Shreveport is AT&T, a key fiber internet and DSL provider. The combined service area reaches all of Shreveport, from Freestate in the north to Ellerbe Woods in the south.

Through Xfinity, those in many parts of Shreveport enjoy reliable access to cable internet. The Xfinity Network reaches parts of Highland and Broadmoor in the east, stopping short of the eastern city limits. The network runs west to Yarborough and Pinecroft, extending beyond city limits.

The NewWave Communications network is slightly smaller than other key Shreveport networks, but it still brings constant service to several northern areas. Through NewWave Communications, northern areas like North Highlands, Freestate, and Allendale have steady internet access. Coverage stops short of Country Club Hills in the central part of Shreveport.

I got really upset with 1 customer service representative and I had been very ill and took it out on the entire company. Just because 1 representative is wrong and rude doesn't mean anything about a company. They cannot watch every single person all of the time. The majority is what u have to rate the company on . I have been using xfinity tv and internet for years and only one time was anyone rude or I had a bad thing to speak about. Every other time I had great experiences with all the representatives and they always fixed my issues. If I hadn't been so sick that day I probably would have realized that maybe he also was having a bad day and let it go. I had some bad news and was just angry and I took it out on everyone . I wish I had not done that and had a chance to apologize. So before you leave a bad review it might help everyone including yourself to stop and think is what happened really worth causing someone to lose a job and a paycheck that they might need to feed their families on just because they had a bad day because of bad news and were angry but not anything about you. All in all xfinity has been a great company to do business with and I have had great television experiences and great internet experience with them also. I've tried other companies and I promise in comparison XFINITY IS THE BEST!

I can’t give them a lower rating than half a star or I would have. This is by far the absolute worst internet I have ever had in my entire life!!!! Unfortunately they are the only internet provider at my new location. The high speed is not high speed. It’s enough to keep you buffering or kick you off but once in a blue moon you get to watch a 1.5 hour movie in as little as 4 hours. You can’t game at all! I cannot even use my cell phone on it so I use my data with my cell provider. My laptop never has been online at all so I literally pay to have my cellphone do it all and they lock you into a 2 YEAR contract! Customer service is no help at all! Says unlimited but it’s partially. So much high speed and the no speed basically. It takes me hours if at all to get on tubi or paramount plus! I wish I had never gotten under contract with them! I am always having to reboot the modem. If the wind blows the satellite goes out per weather conditions. Which doesn’t really matter cause you can’t get on anyways. I’d rather have no internet than deal with this bs!!!!

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
