Breezeline offers home phone service over the internet at a flat rate. To subscribe, you must have Breezeline internet service and use its internet equipment.
Breezeline home phone service comes with familiar features like long-distance calling and call waiting, but there are drawbacks. You might be able to save money and enjoy a better calling experience with a Breezeline mobile phone plan.

Breezeline home phone plans
Breezeline offers one digital home phone plan, which costs $19.99 per month on top of your internet service.
You get unlimited local and long-distance calling from your home phone to the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Other international calls are billed at an additional per-minute rate.
The service includes a Breezeline phone modem plus 16 calling features, including the following:
- Call-waiting
- Three-way calling
- Voicemail
- Breezeline Home Phone Manager
You will need to have your own landline phone or handset to use the service. If you want your phone service to work in case of a power outage, you’ll need to buy your own battery backup.
If there’s an internet outage, your home phone won’t work.

My verdict on home phone plans
Breezeline home phone service may be a good choice if you don’t have good cell phone coverage where you live. Prices are comparable to what you would pay for competing VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) systems, and you don’t have to buy extra equipment for the basic service. And unlike traditional phones, you won’t see a bunch of extra fees added to your bill.
If you can get good cell phone service where you live, though, I recommend choosing a mobile phone plan from Breezeline or another provider. That way, you can sign into your Wi-Fi network to save on mobile data. You can also keep your phone charged so it will work in case of a power outage.
Best yet, Breezeline mobile phones work during internet outages because they piggyback on the Reach network via an MVNE (mobile virtual network enablement) deal with AT&T.
If you’re hesitant about switching over to mobile, I get it! My recommendations for mobile plans for seniors may help.
