What people really say about CenturyLink
Who knows CenturyLink better than the people who use it every day? Reading customer reviews can be a crucial step when choosing an internet provider. You get useful insights into common issues people have with their service and you get insider info about the pros and cons (ok, mostly cons) of a service. Though sorting through angry reviews might dent your confidence in a company, you can learn a lot about what to expect from customer service, billing practices, and the best ways to fix problems if you run into them. Just remember to take them with a grain of salt.
“I live in a rural community and finding stable service was challenging. Century Link was perfect. I have teenagers so needless to say connection is life!”

“I’ve had service for about 3 months. The service is reliable and the price is better than Xfinity. There was a little disconnect on installation day but overall the set up service was good.”

My internet and phone have been out for over a week. I was told that service technician would be here on Tuesday and it's Thursday and still no phone and no internet. I've been a customer for over 30 years. No way to treat people. So I have no phone, no internet, no tv, no computer. Thank you CenturyLink for not doing your job and not caring about your customer.

I have been on a price for life contract with them for $25/month for 12yrs of basic internet… only reason I have stayed. Worst customer service experiences in my 44yrs of life. Worthless AI chat bots, automated phone call loop for an hr to reach ANYONE on the phone. Let alone the right person. Representative was rude & stated that there was an error when we billed you more than we should have & we will credit it back next month. Not immediately, but the next month. Asked why this happened & she said it happens to a lot of customers, all the time. So they steal your money & then wait a month to refund you & that’s only if you catch it. Oh and the bill is going up $3/month if you use a credit card. Crooks. Think I’ll be switching. Purely for the poor customer service & now that they can steal from customers.

Please whatever you do in this life, do not buy from this company. Getting internet through them has been the most miserable experience ever. The package you buy says 10MB upload 10MB download but it is so far from the truth. Consumer support? Does not exist. I will live 1000 life’s before I ever ever buy internet through them. Save yourself the money and time. Please buy anything else.

My phone and internet has been down for a week . I called talked to a lady for 44 minutes and she schedule an appointment for yesterday. Online cancel it for 2 weeks. Not acceptable. I could call for new service and the technician would be here in 24 hours. I've been a customer for over 30 years. Way to show your appreciation. Now I have no internet, no tv, no computer. Not a happy customer

You can't even update your internet information. I Google CenturyLink to get service and I was sent to an office that closed 3 years ago! PATHETIC WAY TO LOOSE A NEW CUSTOMER!

Unreasonable high prices for Internet 65-75$ per month Poor connection, occasionally no internet at all Waiting time to speak to customer service 50 minutes No prorations when you cancel service. You have to pay for the full month even if you only used it for 1 day in your billing cycle. Ridiculous!

My internet went out on Saturday of Labor Day weekend, I tried to call but everything closed to Tuesday. On Tuesday I spent 3++ HOURS trying to talk to someone, finally get a chat with a tech who told me after 1/12 hour that I had not contract with them. I then called billig and was told I had a $12 credit. Of course this was not a human but AI which disconnected. I held fore a tech for over an hour but finally they picked up and hung up on me. I am done with Century Link.

In the short time I’ve had Century Link I’ve needed to schedule tech appointments 3-4 times; which is about 3 times more than I needed with my previous providers. I’m not satisfied with the turnaround time (3 days), or the fact the internet just randomly goes down for no reason requiring an appointment for resolution. Also, the appointment times are 8 hour windows and I’ll be charged $99 if I don’t waste an entire work day waiting around for someone to fix the service I pay for. This is such an incredible disappointment and inconvenience. I will go out of my way to recommend people to NOT use Century Link.

Century Link is extorting me. After20 years with the same service and our modem needed to be replaced. We were charged 200.00 for replacement. I asked for a payment plan. No. We just paid 219.00 and they are sending demand letters before we even got our next bill. Internet is no longer a luxury , it is as essential as gas and lights. There’s got to be another way without supporting a monopoly minded company.
