The Best Sparklight Deals and Promotions

Everything you need to save on your Sparklight internet bill

What are the best Sparklight deals right now?

  • Get high-speed internet with unlimited data and no contract for as little as $34.95 per month
  • Sparklight doesn’t regularly offer perks to new internet customers, but it offers great promotional rates for the first year. Sometimes, you can score free installation and get discounts during checkout, but it’s the luck of the draw—what you get depends on where you live and when you order.

If you’re especially lucky, you might qualify for one of Sparklight’s new pay-as-you-go plans. They cost around $5 more than regular plans with comparable speeds, but they come without installation fees, activation fees, equipment costs, and deposits, so you end up paying less.

Sparklight offers plans ranging from 100Mbps all the way up to 6,000Mbps (if you live in a 100% fiber area), but most families don’t need plans faster than about 500Mbps. If you have more than 10 people online at a time, go for a gigabit plan.

Most Sparklight cable and fiber plans increase in price after the first year by about $30 per month, except the pay-as-you-go plans. Those are available in only select markets, though, and prices are subject to change at any time.

    Sparklight fees and one-time costs

Sparklight’s standard cable plans have multiple fees, and the company charges more than average for equipment rental. At signup, you get charged a $99 installation fee, a $30 activation fee, and a deposit of $25 to $50 if you decide to borrow equipment.

Monthly, you’ll pay between $10 and $24.95 for Wi-Fi equipment rental, depending on the package you use. If you have your own compatible modem, you can rent a single router for $10. If you have neither, you can choose between a $14.95 package with a modem and one router or a $24.95 package with a modem and multiple routers.

There are a few tricks to getting out of the fees. You can skip equipment fees if you use your own modem and router or if you’re on a pay-as-you-go plan. You may also get a deal that waives installation fees, and you may be able to remove or reduce the deposit by agreeing to a credit check.

    Internet deals when you bundle

The TV packages you can get from Sparklight depend on where you live, but most people have access to either the Economy Sparklight TV Plus ($54 per month) or the Standard Sparklight TV Plus package ($131.75 per month). You get more than 20 channels (including local broadcast channels) on the economy plan, and more than 100 channels (including the economy channels) with the Standard plan. Both come with 200 hours of cloud DVR and video on demand.

Call to order and ask about special discounts on bundle pricing.

If you don’t mind buying separate streaming services for your TV needs, consider using a service like MyBundle.TV, which recommends streaming services based on the shows and channels you care about most.

    Sparklight TV fees

Sparklight TV doesn’t work like old-fashioned cable channels that use coaxial cables and set-top boxes. Instead, Sparklight TV streams over the internet.

If you don’t have Sparklight TV, you’ll have to pay an additional $10.50 per month for a Sparklight TV Modem. The following fees also apply.

    • Broadcast TV Fee: $14.44–$30.54/mo. (varies by area)
    • Sports Surcharge: $9.20/mo.
    • Franchise Fees: Vary
    • Administrative cost recovery fee: $5.62/mo.

You can also get premium channels through Sparklight, at the following rates:

    HBO Max, CINEMAX®, STARZ®/STARZ ENCORE®: $19/mo. each

    HBO Stand Alone: $19/mo.

    SHOWTIME®/TMC: $10.99/mo.

Any two Premium Movie Services: $32/mo.

Any three Premium Movie Services: $42/mo.

Add SHOWTIME/TMC to any bundle: $10.99/mo.

    Hispanic Tier: $6/mo.

    Digital Value Pack: $16/mo.

Prices may vary depending on where you live, so I recommend asking for your channel lineup and a list of fees when you call to order.

    Deals for low-income households

Pay As You Go 100 $35.00/mo.*Cable
    Connect Internet 100 $35.95/mo.Cable
    Fiber 300 Mbps $39.95/mo.Fiber

Sparklight doesn’t offer special deals for low-income households, but you can get decent service for less than $40 per month (for the first six months). The exact plan depends on where you live.

If you can get it, I recommend the Pay As You Go plan because it comes with free Wi-Fi equipment and no installation or activation fees. However, be aware the price could go up any time.

I also recommend finding out if you’re eligible for the federal Lifeline program. It won’t cover your whole bill, but it will pay $9.25 toward either internet or cell phone services every month.

    My take on Sparklight deals

Sparklight internet service is a good option if you can’t get any other kind of fully wired service. It’s more reliable than some 5G home internet plans, and works even if you can’t get a good cell signal. It’s also much cheaper and more stable than satellite internet.

That said, Sparklight doesn’t offer a lot of deals. Rates start low, but you get hit with big monthly increases in as little as six months. Plus, the startup fees and equipment fees really add up. Your total bill could be nearly double the advertised price, even before your first-year promotions end.

Lucky for you, Sparklight doesn’t require contracts so you can cancel any time. My best advice is to give Sparklight a try if you don’t have any other good internet options where you live, but remember to check your bill every month and plan to shop for a new service at least once per year.
