Fort Collins Residential Internet Coverage

Fort Collins has access to a wide range of high-speed internet options for its residents.

Centurylink Prism has developed a strong fiber network in this area, reaching much of the eastern part of the city. Service stops just short of Horsetooth Heights and Bellvue, but runs to the northern and southern limits of Fort Collins.

CenturyLink offers DSL to all of Fort Collins, reaching Horsetooth Heights in the west, Arrowhead in the east, Giddings in the north, and Trilby Corner in the south.

This is nearly identical to the coverage map of Xfinity, which makes high-speed cable available to all of Fort Collins.

Telephone and Data Systems has a slightly more limited network, stopping before reaching the west side of College Avenue and excluding a small area north of Harmony Road.

Through Microtech-tel, coverage is available at the northern and southern limits of the city, with some areas along the western and eastern borders falling outside the service area.

Via Integra Telecom, those in Fort Collins and surrounding communities can choose DSL.

Finally, fiber internet is available in the entire city of Fort Collins through Front Range internet.

By far the best internet in Fort Collins. So glad to be done with Xfinity and interminable waits on the phone. When you call, you get a person. What an idea!

We've had Fort Collins Connexion for over a year and have been extremely happy with the service. By far the fastest internet I've ever had with the fiber. We initially had Xfinity which was horrible and their customer service was even worse. With Connexion, we've only had to contact support once and it was handled quickly and with a positive attitude. Plus, it's nice that this city-run business is putting money back into our local community.

The customer service department was dishonest about lowering the rate. They agreed to lower the rate when we changed to internet only service. This never took place so we cancelled. The quality was poor, the internet kept going out.

When i was first signing up to be a at&t customer I originally just wanted a phone but your employee also sold me a tablet and I only bought it because she said I would have to pay 10$ a month for it for 2 years and then I wouldnt have to worry about it. She never said that the tablet would have to be canceled separately from my phone. So when Verizon said they would cancel my service with at&t I didnt think i would get another bill. But then i still got billed for the tablet. And when I called to ask about it they said it just was my responsibility and it was my fault for not getting it canceled and i would still have to pay the bill. Im very frustrated with this kind of service.

After reading all of the comments, especially since the vast majority of them are negative, we are glad that the customer service department lost all of our information, install dates & anything else that might pertain to our company (with exception of the credit card # of course), before we even got started with them. When we called to confirm the install date, the "customer service" representative was COMPLETELY clueless. All I can say is we certainly dodged a bullet with this company! Whomever is leading this corporation should be ashamed of themselves.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
