Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

Satellite internet is widely available, but offers slower speeds due to a far-traveling signal.

Fiber:

SPECTRUM HAS PHYSICAL STORES WITH REAL PEOPLE. No problems with tv/internet for 3 years, other than occasional brief outage during storms. cost did go up a bit after 1st year initial offer. needed a new cell phone and found spectrum to be a good price...one GB is plenty for me and spectrum price was cheaper per month than my tracphone. Casey at the Mentor store was very helpful and set up my new phone for me...transferred contacts, etc. Had to go to another Spectrum store to find a case, as the first one was out. Jim at the Ashtabula store went in the back and located a case for me, and when I paid, he looked at my account and found me a better monthly rate, since I had bought a phone/service from Spectrum.the day before. SPECTRUM HAS PHYSICAL STORES WITH REAL PEOPLE. I have found them to be helpful and pleasant. Rates are within industry averages, or better. I am older person and prefer real people to deal with, rather than trying to call a company and after a 15 minute phone hassle, getting someone somewhere that I cannot understand for the life of me. SPECTRUM IS FINE WITH ME.
