Yakima Residential Internet Coverage

Nearly 20% of Yakima residents were born outside the United States. It's largely a blue-collar town with short commutes. The lower-income residents rely on internet connections to keep in touch with friends and families abroad and pursue additional education. Every Yakima resident can connect to high-speed internet compared with 94% of Washington state.

Charter's cable internet connection and CenturyLink's DSL services both reach every Yakima resident. As yet, there is not fiber optic service available for residents in the area.

Businesses have additional options. LS Networks provides copper wire to 100% of business enterprises. Level 3 Communications also has a small share of the fiber optics market. Also, LS Networks reaches 100% of Yakima businesses with fiber optics. Integra Telecom also offers copper wire and DSL.

Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

With our old internet provider we were lucky to get 30 mb up and 10 down even though we were paying for 300/30. We also had many occasions when it would shut down completely. We have had Ziply for three months now and consistently get 95 up and 95 down on all devices. I'm sure we could get better but our devices are older and only have network cards. We have also not experienced any down time that we know of. And the price is less than half of what we were paying before.

They are a bunch of thieves taking advantage of students and families during a pandemic. They will raise your price to unreasonable amounts and expect you to bundle but you are still stuck paying the the same new total. I don't want or need a bundle I just need affordable internet.

When my year is up, I most likely will not continue with any of the Spectrum services (phone, internet & cable). My phone doesn't always ring and often I get poor service. Some days I can talk from my apartment in any of the rooms but other days I have to go outside. The internet and cable is very slow and sometimes won't connect at all. We have been with them for 6 months and suddenly we are no longer able to get most of the local channels. I am very disappointed with Spectrum!!!
