Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

When we were sold Viasats' internet plan we were assured it was the highest speed for the lowest price in the area, and we were assured that the internet would be strong enough to stream and play online games, which was a lie, the internet was unable to handle streaming on more than one device and that was the "high speed" internet. When we ran out of data the LTE on our phones worked better than the wifi. We tried calling to cancel the internet but the wifi was so bad that they couldn't hear us and after putting us on hold for 18 minutes (after saying it would take no more than 2 minutes) immediately hung up. When we finally did get it cancelled we were charged an exuberant amount of money. They have horrible internet and even worse customer service. Save your wallet and time and find something else.
