Centurylink customer service and technical areas are the worst I’ve ever felt with. It started when I got my divorce and called to change my last name back to my maiden name. The customer service rep asked for my social and I told him he didn’t need my whole social to change my name. He swore he did. I told him I wanted no change to my plan and he took advantage of me and opened anew account which included direct TV. Which I did not want. He sent someone out to my house without my knowledge for set up. It wasn’t until that happened that I realized what that representative did. When I told the set up tech I didn’t order it he said “well someone ordered it in your name it had to have been you.” The kicker was it was still ordered in my maiden name. I called and let a manager know and told them it better not be on my credit to which they responded it was- that they did pull it and that it was done by direct tv not them so I had to take it up with them. SUPER SHADY and illegal. From then in almost every month the internet service (which is the only thing I have through them) goes down once or twice a month. To where I call and every time have to identify myself three-four times before someone will actually talk to me. When I ask when services will be up again they always say it’s my router at the beginning of the call (when really it’s an outage in my area) as neighbors are down too. I will be looking for a new provider and placing a bbb complaint for what that representative did to my credit by pulling stuff I never gave him permission to pull and then them not fixing what they did. When I was told I would get a call back Monday morning at 8am (yesterday) that NEVER happened as I was told it would. Surprise surprise.

See internet providers in nearby cities.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Andover? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
