Eden Prairie Residential Internet Coverage

As one of the main suburbs of the Twin Cities, Eden Prairie is home to many who prefer suburban life and commute to work in the big city. High-speed internet is a main priority for those who live and work in this city.

One option to explore is CenturyLink. With this internet service provider, the entire city of Eden Prairie enjoys consistent service. The service area reaches Lesley in the north, Flying Cloud in the south, Terrey Pine in the west, and Rowland in the east.

Another huge option in Eden Prairie is Xfinity. This cable provider is accessible in much of Eden Prairie. The coverage area includes Valley View and Rowland in the east, Baker and Lesley in the north, and Flying Cloud in the south. Service reaches Duck Lake in the west, stopping short of Chanhassen.

Through Mediacom, most of central and western Eden Prairie has several plan options. This ISP provides coverage as far east as downtown, but the service area stops before reaching Anderson Lakes.

It was fine at first with only occasional buffering. Now It's all the time. Gateway is less than 1 mile from a tower, but I loose the internet connection 2+ times per day. Download speeds? Laughable, no where near what is advertised. Tech support blames it on congestion. That's a t-mobile problem. No I can't recommend t-mobile as a reliable service. They over sell an area and then leave you hanging. If you should call support, do in the morning, otherwise you probably get offshore support and they are terrible.

horrible customer service - often times they flat out lie to you. Wanted to change my internet and specifically asked if I had to be home when the change was made. Four seperate time I was told no one needed to be home. But I kept getting emails reminding me of my appointment and I needed to be there. Finally the day before I get a call - oh yes, you need to be there. We are installing a new modem. This is not the first example of how they are crappy. Internet speed - paid for 65m. During peak times I frequently hover around 20. Never get compensation. Over charge you for CenturyLink @Ease - what a waste of money. Pay if they have to come into your home. Three years of this an never once used it. Out $15 per month - $540 paid to them for NOTHING!!!!

We recently renewed our cable and internet service with xfinity under a 2 year agreement. When we did this we were supposedly bumped to 300-400 Mps internet speed. However, we are consistently getting FAR below the stated service with speed tests showing actual download rates of 30-32 Mbps. When we call to complain, Xfinity will tweak a few things and get the speed up, but it will generally fall back to 30 Mps within a couple of weeks. If I didn't know any better I would think that this is a planned decrease once you've been lulled into complacency. Also, it seems like they try and make the customer service calls as long and as painful as possible, often repeating the same question and the same information over and over. The idea being that we will hesitate to call back in the future because it will take too much time.

See internet providers in nearby cities.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Eden Prairie? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
