Optimum Offers Price Locks, Cheap Mobile Bundles

New campaign promises fast, reliable connectivity from anywhere

Optimum Internet rolled out a big advertising campaign this month with an electrifying message: “Don’t take slow for an answer.” But it’s more than just a call to action—the campaign coincides with sweet deals on combined internet and mobile service.

The campaign also coincides with rapid growth in Optimum’s fiber internet footprint. By the end of 2024, the company had started offering fiber internet to about 3 million homes and businesses, making up about a third of its footprint across 21 states. The other 6 million customers have access to cable internet.

In addition to fiber growth, Optimum provided service to nearly 500,000 mobile phone lines by the end of 2024 through a virtual operator deal with T-Mobile. This means that Optimum customers get access to the largest 5G network in the nation at prices that can be much lower than they would pay elsewhere.

We don’t yet know how much the company has grown in 2025, but we do know the company is eager to attract new customers to its home internet, cable TV, and mobile phone services. Its big promise is that customers will enjoy speedy, reliable service from anywhere.

I reached out to Optimum about what inspired the campaign and heard directly from Chief Marketing Officer Kristin Malaspina via email:

“Optimum has made great strides in delivering stronger, faster, and more reliable connectivity solutions that reach consumers everywhere they are—at home and on the go. Through Don’t Take Slow For An Answer, Optimum is unleashing the true power and potential of our network, demonstrating all the ways that our customers rely on us to power their everyday—from streaming and messaging to more data-intensive activities like video calling and gaming. There is a solution for everyone with Optimum’s internet and mobile services, and through this new creative and tagline, we are showcasing the starring role that connectivity plays in our lives, all at an incredible value.”

How to get the Optimum deals

Ordering internet service from Optimum is easy—you can do it by shopping online or visiting a store location in person. Look for available deals, and read the fine print during checkout to make sure you know how to qualify.

Adding mobile service is a little harder. After you sign up for internet service, visit Optimum Mobile and choose a plan. Then, create a new account and enter your Optimum Internet account number to proceed.

Once your mobile and internet accounts are linked, you’ll see bundling options. Use the code PAY20LESS4UNL.

After you finish checking out, you’ll be billed separately for your mobile and internet services, and your savings will come in the form of bill credits that may take up to two months to appear. I recommend signing up for autopay and paperless billing to get the best rates possible. Keep an eye on both bills because if the accounts get unlinked (it happens), your bill could skyrocket.

Bills will also go up when price locks expire. The exact amount isn’t set in stone, but we commonly see a price hike of $15 per month after the first year of internet service and another price hike of $15 per month after the second year.

Unlimited mobile service comes with a catch

You can get the Optimum internet and mobile bundle for $45 per month with the deal advertised in Optimum’s latest campaign, and it’s a steal! Since the price for 300Mbps internet is $40 per month, you’re getting a line of unlimited phone service for just $5 per month.

Just be aware there’s no price lock to be had.

After 12 months, the price for an unlimited mobile line with Optimum is $45 per month. It’s not outrageous—other mobile providers charge more—but it can be a shock if you’re not expecting it.

At that point, your sweet bundle deal may cost $85 per month since your internet price will be locked at $40 per month. I can’t tell for sure, but you probably won’t qualify for a $20 discount on internet service for bundling because the price lock offer can’t be combined with other offers.

Contact Optimum Mobile any time you need to change your plan or negotiate a new deal.

Where you can get Optimum’s mobile and internet services

Optimum serves markets across the country, with a presence in 21 states. Part of each state can get fiber internet, but only cable internet is available in some places. Here’s a quick list:

Can you get Optimum internet where you live?

How Optimum’s perks and price locks compare

Optimum’s biggest competitors for internet service are other 5G providers, such as Verizon and T-Mobile, and fiber internet providers, such as Frontier and AT&T. It also competes with cable internet providers Spectrum in some areas and, to a lesser extent, Xfinity.

If you can get fiber internet from any provider, you should. It’s the fastest and most reliable type of internet, and it’s often the cheapest. For the average-size family, we recommend internet plans of at least 300Mbps and mobile plans with at least 10GB of priority data.

I say the same about price locks—they can be a great way to keep your budget in check for years to come. However, they’re not all created equal. Here’s what you need to know about perks and guarantees from your likely options:

Verizon deals: This company offers a price lock for up to five years, and its 5G and fiber plans are affordable and reliable. You can get excellent perks like gift cards or even free TV or VR headsets, depending on when you buy, and all customers get free Wi-Fi gear. Some deals end in April but others extend through May.

T-Mobile Home Internet deals: I haven’t seen price locks on 5G home internet service from this company, but you can get price locks on mobile phone service. These price locks are a little tricky, though. They don’t guarantee your price won’t change. Instead, they guarantee T-Mobile will pay your final bill if your price changes and you decide to switch to another provider.

Frontier deals: This company doesn’t offer price locks on fiber internet, but you may be able to get gift cards when you sign up. You also get included Wi-Fi equipment. If you can only get Frontier’s DSL, we recommend against it. You’ll be happier with Optimum’s cable or fiber internet offerings.

AT&T deals: I’ve seen multi-year price locks from this company in the past, but none are currently offered. Instead, you can get perks like 20% off your internet bill when you bundle with wireless or six months of free internet when you pair AT&T and fiber with wireless and buy a new phone on an installment plan. Like with Optimum, that deal ends June 30.

Spectrum deals: If you choose a Spectrum Triple Play bundle, you can get a price lock for up to three years. With other options, you can get price locks of a year or two. After that, internet prices can increase up to $20 per month.

Xfinity deals: Prices on internet service are usually good for one or two years, but the company recently offered a five-year price lock on its 400Mbps Connect More plan. It’s available only until June 23, though, and doesn’t apply to any other internet speeds.
