Puyallup Residential Internet Coverage

The suburb of Puyallup, in close proximity to both Tacoma and Seattle, has many internet service providers to meet the diverse needs of its population.

Fiber internet is becoming more widely available in this city, due in part to the Centurylink Prism network. This company has a fiber network that begins east of East Meridian Avenue, reaching far east to the city's limits. Service is available in much of the central part of the city, although part of northern Puyallup is not yet within the network.

CenturyLink is the DSL counterpart to Centurylink Prism, offering a sprawling network that covers all of Puyallup.

Cable internet is provided by Xfinity, which boasts a huge service map that reaches the entire city of Puyallup. Coverage is available as far north as River Road, as far south as Gem Heights Drive, as far west as Summit, and as far east as Alderton.

Through Click! Network, several Puyallup neighborhoods have access to various internet speeds. The service map excludes part of southern Puyallup around State Route 162, as well as some of the northern neighborhoods around Valley Freeway.

Yet another option, Megapath has a competitive service map that extends to all of Puyallup's residential and business areas.

Xfinity service was pretty good. Outages happened a bit more than CenturyLink, but not unreasonable. Good all around.

When we first move in Puyallup area and got Comcast it was good. I'm talking about the internet service. Never a dropped connection, just when the DHCP lease was up but never noticed. NOW it is very bad with all their upgrades and crippling the internet service I get dropped every day even with the new modem/router. I will not upgrade to get better internet. I'm dropping comcast they are robbers for your money.

We are very happy with the service but the price is excessive. I have used comcast for 12 years and they always give amazing deals to new customers but our price I s thru the roof.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
