After 5 months of continuous frustration and aggravation with my television set buffering and many phone calls and chats with service representatives and two visits from a technician, I am dropping Spectrum! They never fully fix the problem of the buffering in my TV even though I was paying a premium price for all of their services including Spectrum mobile. I paid on average $200 a month for only a speed of 93 as I discovered and not a speed of 400 as they told me! The last technician change day cable which did change the speed from 93 to 560 which I thought fix the problem that day. But the very next day my TV started buffering all over again and the constant aggravation and frustration started all over again too. When I spoke with a support agent this evening on the phone and explained yet once again everything that's been going on She helped me to fix the problem with the buffering this evening. I then asked her if I could have money back from Spectrum because I've been paying a premium price for 400 speed for the last 5 months and yet only getting 93 speed plus the aggravation of frustration of not being able to watch a movie or anything else without it stopping continuously. I am 77 years old and not able to get around well so I am home a lot and depend on my television. She then told me that Spectrum would only give me $10 back on my bill! $10! That's right $10! I couldn't believe it, I thought she would say we'll give you a month for free. At any rate I am so disappointed and so frustrated at this point that I am going to have to move on to a carrier that is more dependable and my neighbor told me about T-Mobile. She has both their Wi-Fi and their mobile service and she has very few problems at all. So goodbye Spectrum. I am so sorry that you could not at least help me out with better compensation on a bill for everything you have put me through. You might be kinder to senior citizens you know who are stuck at home and have to put up with this crap.

See internet providers in nearby cities.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Sturgeon Bay? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
