Claremont Residential Internet Coverage

Being located beside Mt. Baldy, Claremont residents don't have a wide range of options when selecting an internet provider.

Most areas south of Route 210 have access to both DSL and fiber optics internet through Frontier Communications. Frontier offers fiber optic speeds up to 100 Mbps, which includes both upload and download speeds. However, they offer slower DSL services, reaching up to only 15 Mbps in download speeds and 3 Mbps in upload speeds.

Time Warner Cable Spectrum services all areas of Claremont, even those closest to Mt. Baldy. Most residents report receiving between 250-to-300 Mbps in download speeds and 10-to-24 Mbps in upload speeds.

The only other provider residents in Claremont, CA have access to is HughesNet, which offers satellite internet. They offer speeds as high as 15 Mbps during clear weather, but during rough weather, speeds can decline as low as 2 Mbps.

Service is horrible! Constant outages almost every day/week doesn’t matter the time. I work from home and they are always inconsistent. Don’t believe their false advertising!! They never mean what they “say” it’s ridiculous how many people I had to talk to and they all said some thing different but all denied me of any type of promotional rates that I qualified for. This company is a joke really. I had no issues with frontier the way I do with spectrum. Their own employees even admit to the false advertising spectrum does and the amount of complaints they get.

Well, the internet reliability of the internet and the price are really good, great to be exact, but the customer service is only fine... when you ask questions to them, they will answer your question enthusiastically, but sometimes they just keep you on the line and never, never gives a chance to you to stop and find a reason to hang up, even though a reason is given to them

I was able to find Internet by comparing prices and reading reviews on the site. I felt confidant with my purchase after going thru the reviews and speed available. Now that I've moved I'm back again to find out more about my new town and what is available for review.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Claremont? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
