Fairfield Residential Internet Coverage

Fairfield is a flourishing community within California, currently residing 113,000 residents. With such a large community, most residents only have access to one DSL internet provider, one cable internet provider and one satellite internet provider. Only one area has fiber optics and none have fixed wireless internet.

One of the major companies located in Fairfield is AT&T. This company offers most areas with DSL services, though limits itself throughout the Travis Air Force Base, Green Valley, Mankas Corner and Cannon. However, those living near or in Travis Air Force Base have access to fiber optics internet with AT&T Uverse, offering speeds up to 24 Mbps. The advertised highest DSL speed in Travis AFB is 45 Mbps, while the rest of Fairfield is around 75 Mbps.

Comcast services cable internet to most of Fairfield with their Xfinity services. Offering speeds up to 300 Mbps, residents as far south as Cordelia, Chadbourne and Green Valley to northern neighborhoods in Travis AFB have access to it. However, certain residents near Travis Air Force Base may not be serviceable.

Small areas bordering Cordelia and Green Valley have access to Sonic DSL and cable services, with advertised speeds of 100 Mbps and 12 Mbps, respectively. These services are only available in these small areas.

Lastly, any house with access to the southern sky has access to HughesNet Satellite internet, with speeds ranging between 4 Mbps to 15 Mbps.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
