Riverside Residential Internet Coverage

Riverside is one of the largest cities in California, and it's home to many established businesses and retail areas that rely on access to internet. Within this city, customers can choose from cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite providers.

Through Frontier, several eastern Riverside neighborhoods have access to fiber internet. Covered neighborhoods include Hunter Industrial Park and Canyon Crest. Service is unavailable west of the downtown area. The DSL network provided by Frontier Communications is similar, limited only to eastern Riverside.

AT&T has a major presence in Riverside; the combined fiber and DSL networks cover almost all of the city, excluding Canyon Springs and Sycamore Canyon Park.

Cable is widely available through Time Warner Cable. This company offers service as far west as La Sierra, as far east as Canyon Springs, as far north as Northside, and as far south as Orangecrest. Some northwestern neighborhoods fall outside the service area; this includes Arlanza and La Sierra Acres. Rival cable provider Charter offers cable coverage to almost all of Riverside.

Through New Edge Networks, those in many key Riverside neighborhoods can choose high-speed plans. There are some gaps in coverage, primarily in the northeastern and southeastern parts of the city.

Viasat company is a total ripoff. Had internet installed with them. I canceled service the next day cause it didn’t meet my expectations. They changed my bank account $372.52 disconnection fee. Come on an early disconnection fee less then day of service.

When you cancel Spectrum record you conversation with the representative because if you don’t the only notes they’ll have in their system is the day you signed up and the day you turned in your equipment. They tell you don’t owe but when they send you a bill they’ll say your billing date was a couple days before you couple days before turnings in equipment or you paid your last bill on the 5th of the month which is paying for that money since you paid in advance before you got Spectrum’s service.

Charter provides good service and speed, but after the year is up and the promotions expire... the price goes up, and up, and up! So, be prepared and not surprised.

I can't believe how bad AT&T has gotten. As a member for over 10 years, I still see fraudulent hidden charges that ATT still tries to sneak into my bill. Most recent is the international fee of $100. I have called ATT on multiple occasions stating I do not want any of my phones to be able to get international calls. ATT customer care has confirmed that it has been removed from all lines. And sure enough a month later, I get an international fee. I am told to call three different departments, and call them for a month, spending over 20 hours on the line with reps who state there is no comments regarding my call to remove international calls. Well, there is a record on my phone I call, and recordings that confirm the rep stated there would be no international calls. After 1 month of calling, they said they can take $50 out of the $100 they billed me fraudulently. This company is run by crooks and scumbags. I am cancelling my service, and will be devoting the rest of my life telling everyone I ever come in contact with to avoid ATT at all cause.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Riverside? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
