AT&T is perhaps THE absolutely worst internet service provider I've ever used in the last 20 years. I started using them back in 2005, as I lived in a very old apartment complex, they only had DSL service at the time. Each year that had gone by, I was told they'd start running fibers into my neighborhood. Well, it went from 3, to 5, to 10 years and my prices had gone from an introductory price of $14.99 all the way to $48 and I was getting a mere 3-5Mbps download speed and ~0.5Mbps upload speed. A full DECADE later, they still didn't have anything faster and the prices kept skyrocketing each year. FINALLY, I had enough and switch to Xfinity for about the same price and 10+ times the download speed. AT&T, as a whole, the speeds were old and out-of-date (at least for my area), prices were expensive, and the customer service was horrible,

I've had several internet providers over the year, and I am pretty satisfied with the service. I would obviously always want an internet that is even faster and while I do believe such a service is possible, this current one is still satisfactory. I am able to have as many as ten tabs loading at once without the browser crashing, which is useful and convenient. This internet disconnects rather rarely and when it does it does not stay that way for a very long time. Overall, I am satisfied with AT&T Uverse, but am interested in a provider with faster speed.

See internet providers in nearby cities.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Sunnyvale? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
