Bridgeport Residential Internet Coverage

The coastal city of Bridgeport enjoys consistent service from many internet service providers, offering plans in a variety of speeds and budget points.

Through AT&T, many Bridgeport residents have access to fiber internet, DSL, or both. Coverage is available throughout the entire city, from Black Rock in the southwest to North Bridgeport in the northeast and everywhere in between. Fiber is available in fewer parts of the city, although the network is being built up.

Another large provider in Bridgeport is Frontier Communications, which brings DSL service to the entirety of Bridgeport. There is consistent service along the southern coast in South End, East End, and the downtown area. The network reaches through the central neighborhoods of Brooklyn, Enterprise Zone, The Hollow, and Mill Hill before reaching Reservoir in the north.

Megapath makes service widely available, extending its network beyond the city limits to the north, west, and east.

After dealing with Optimum for years and back and forth with their support regarding issue after issue with my network I took the jump to GoNetspeed. Everything has been running fine after signing up for a year. I see negative posts and clearly these people don't understand how fiber optic works and the issues with bad weather, cold weather. I haven't had a bill increase yet and will continue enjoying my service with GoNetSpeed. I had Frontier knock on my door offering 2 Gigabit Fiber for the same price as my 1 Gigabit speed with GoNetspeed. I told the reps that I am keeping my current service as I've had no issues with them.

Fairly decent customer service, with horrible technician turnaround. Horrible speeds, clocking in under 2mbps upload, 10-11mb download. *high speed* Takes me a full month to download 500gb worth of movies and series. Absolutely ridiculously slow speeds. Fiber optic rollout insanely slow.

I believe my internet provider is moderately providing quality service. I feel that internet connection pricing could be much more affordable among customers that have been with that same internet provider for years.

See internet providers in nearby cities.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Bridgeport? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
