I have been with Spectrum for 4 yrs. The service was fair because it kept going out and had to reboot. About 1 yr ago guess they found the problem at last and service was better We went with this service because it was the only one available at the time When another provider came we decided to switch. Higher speed and lower cost I’m very disappointed in spectrum. They charged me for a month when I only used their service for 2 days. Apparently they do not prorate this was after I asked them to disconnect and returned their equipment. So beware of this. It was an 80 dollar bill I do not want to pay

This is by far the most awful ISP I've ever had in my life. Frequent outages, rude and slow customer service, occasionally spotty internet and often slow speeds. Definitely try to get another ISP in your area if possible. If not possible, be prepared to spend way too much money, deal with customer service reps trying to sell you something you don't need for the worst internet in America.

I'm in an outage more than I am able to use my services. When asked about a credit, they determine whether or not you get the credit. If your service is out for 4 hours or more you're eligible for the credit, but I'd much rather be able to use my internet, wifi services and at least watch my TV. I WOULD NOT recommend Spectrum.

Mediacom high speed internet is the WORST! If you live in Columbia, MO you are basically forced to use them for your high speed internet needs. I have been a customer for over 15 years and have NEVER had good service. I constantly check competitors to see if there is a company I can switch to. I pay for 100 down/ 10 up and the best I have ever gotten is 28 down/ 3 up. Service goes out completely for days at a time and when you call they do the exact same trouble shooting procedure then set you up with an appointment. Problem is they NEVER fix the actual problem. They hook up to the modem and say it is working now. (NO CRAP!!!) I have had more than one technician and service man tell me the problem is down the line and the whole neighborhood has problem BUT they don't fix it. They just keep pocketing our money and KNOWINGLY give us substandard to NONEXISTENT service. SHAME ON YOU MEDIACOM!

Horrendous customer service & internet reliability. If there were any alternative in COMO I'd switch. Days without service and latency/speed issues every day after 5pm make them a complete waste of time. When I requested assistance to troubleshoot my intermittent service they said they could have someone out, in a week. If you call in the evenings you get the finest of customer service, from India.

Most of the time, CenturyLink has fairly fast internet. It's good enough for my family and I to all use it at the same time without issue. That said, their prices are a bit exorbitant, and bad weather can slow the speeds to a crawl.

See internet providers in nearby cities.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Columbia? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
