I can tell you having worked in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years that Tachus is far superior to Xfinity. The reviews show Xfinity being faster, but neighborhoods are on coax, so no why Xfinity is faster. I had xfinity for years, terrible customer service, and delivery. For example, they never have a clue what I have in my house, or even what equipment I am suppose to have. We went around and around about this for years. They even had equipment listed in my account that I didn’t even have. The review is biased…..

Xfinity called me about setting up a new cable contract. I had Xfinity for 9 years and never updated the contract. I said I wanted the same channels and same boxes. After three calls Xfinity said they had completed the contract and that I would be saving a lot of money. Xfinity saved money by removing 2 channels and 2 boxes. After I called another 3 times to get the original channel setup and the boxes I had, the bill increased by 30%. I had a total of 6 calls to set up a new contract that I never updated in the last 9 years, removed channels and boxes to make it look cheaper and then increase the cable bill by 30%. Update the contract was just an excuse to increase my bill by 30%. Xfinity is a corrupt company, and other cable companies should provide service in this area.

This company has the most abysmal service of any company on Earth. To say they don't care about customers is the understatement of the century. They "support" team is nothing but a bunch of script readers that have no clue how anything works. They do nothing but make excuses and say "I'm sorry" over and over again. It's a joke. There's no way to speak to anyone who actually cares. Everything they do is full of empty promises and outright lies.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
