DSL:

DSL provides internet service via phone cables and is up to ten times faster than dial-up service.

Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

Satellite:

Satellite internet is widely available, but offers slower speeds due to a far-traveling signal.

Fiber:

Fiber relies on glass strands to relay digital code and is much faster than both DSL and cable.

Internet usually runs at a third of the speed you purchased. When there is an outage it is hard to say when your internet will be back on. They will give you a time and keep moving it, until it says internet will be back on as soon as possible. They do give you a service interruption credit, but it's only 2 or 3 bucks. They should upgrade to fiber optic but spectrum is 20 years behind. Definitely don't recommend. Get Metronet if possible.
