Lexington Residential Internet Coverage

Customers in the Lexington metropolitan area have a variety of options for cable, DSL, satellite, and fiber internet.

One of the main providers of fiber and DSL in Lexington is AT&T. Their coverage map includes much of central Lexington, including Southern Park, Central Downtown, and Fairway-Liberty Heights.

Windstream is a primary provider in this area, offering internet to nearly 100% of Lexington. They cover every part of Lexington, with the exception of some of Mount Vernon.

The coverage map of Time Warner Cable is similar, although Time Warner Cable serves all parts of Mount Vernon in addition to other Lexington neighborhoods. In the northwest part of the city, coverage is available in Gardenside, Holiday Hills, Cardinal Hill, and Douglas Park. Service runs east to the northeastern communities of Elkhorn Parks, Thoroughbred Acres, Warrenton, and Kenawood.

In addition, TW cable is available through the central part of the city, reaching southeastern communities like Idle Hour, Reservorir, Ashland Park, and Southeastern Hills. In the southwestern part of the city, covered neighborhoods include Garden Springs, Southland, Twin Oaks, and Indian Hills.

Although Mediacom currently has a limited service area in Lexington, coverage may expand in coming years.

The internet service is atrocious. Constantly cutting out. Way over priced for what you are told you are getting

I just tried to end my tv service and was informed that even though my cable service was ended TODAY, I would have to pay through to the end of the month anyway. This is revolting customer service and everyone should know this and stay away.

I have been an Insight customer for many years. Time Warner just bought them out so now I am a Time Warner customer. I have cable and internet. I don't think that anything can hold a candle to the speed of cable internet, however I do have a problem. Every few nights, everything I connect wifi will disconnect and I have to unplug my modem and router for five minutes, and then reconnect. It is pretty annoying, especially when I need to look something up before work and the internet isn't working. Overall though, the internet is fast and I can connect multiple devices and still get a great speed.

My internet speed is good, but it's way too expensive. I've never had any service issues so I can't really rate their service.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Lexington? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
