Is Verizon’s Three-Year Price Guarantee All Hype?
Read our expert take and learn how to get the guarantee

Verizon made a big splash on Monday with promises of three-year price guarantees on its myHome internet and myPlan mobile plans. But is a three-year price guarantee a big deal? And what about all the other perks in the big Verizon announcement?
We love stable pricing, deals on streaming services, and savings when you bundle home and internet plans. But the thing is, Verizon has been offering all this for a while now.
The announcement might be a reason to switch to Verizon if you’re unhappy with your internet or mobile phone provider. Still, it doesn’t offer a rock-solid reason to stay with Verizon if you can get better pricing or more reliability elsewhere.
How to get the Verizon price guarantee
This one’s easy—every Verizon customer on a myHome internet or myPlan phone plan qualifies for the guarantee, whether or not you’re a new customer. That three-year guarantee starts over when you switch plans.
It’s much simpler than Verizon’s free TV or VR headset offer, which requires signing up for premium plans and waiting a certain period to claim your prize.
Other perks from Verizon
Verizon offers a long list of perks to your home phone or internet plan, and each costs $10 per month. Here’s a quick list:
- Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ streaming services
- Netflix and Max streaming services
- Apple One bundle
- Apple Music family subscription
- YouTube Premium
- 100GB mobile hotspot (mobile only)
- Unlimited cloud storage (internet only)
- Home Device Protect (internet only)
- Google One Premium (internet only)
- $10 off YouTube TV for the first year (internet only)
Internet customers also get a free rental of their Wi-Fi gear, and phone customers qualify for a free phone if they have a trade-in and agree to a three-year installment plan. If you bundle, you get $15 off your internet bill. Not too shabby!

Verizon’s plans compared
Verizon offers both fiber and fixed wireless internet on its mobile phone network. If you can get one of its fiber plans, we highly recommend it. You’ll benefit from low prices on one of the fastest and most reliable networks. The fixed wireless plans are more complicated to recommend, though. Most of the time, a fully wired internet connection from a cable or fiber internet provider will have fewer slowdowns throughout the day and much lower latency. If you’re gaming or videoconferencing, that’s a big deal.
Verizon’s mobile plans are rock solid, but they’re relatively expensive. The plus side is excellent coverage, even when you’re out in the boonies. If you go for a premium plan, you also get unlimited priority data and a bucketload of mobile hotspotting data. The downside is that prices that are more than double what you might pay with a budget provider like Cricket or Consumer Cellular.
Mobile bundles with other internet providers
You can get even more savings if you live in an area with solid internet from a company like Xfinity or Spectrum and choose one of their mobile bundles. Of course, neither offers three-year price guarantees nor free equipment across the board.
If you go with T-Mobile, you can get fixed wireless internet (or perhaps fiber internet) and moderately priced mobile phone plans, but you won’t get all the perks you would enjoy with Verizon.
What other customers think
If you’re still on the fence but put a lot of stock into company reputations, we get it! Here’s a quick look at how each company fared in our most recent customer satisfaction survey:
Provider | Customer satisfaction rating* | Customer reviews | Shop now |
---|---|---|---|
| 3.9 | What Verizon customers say | |
| 4.1 | What T-Mobile customers say | |
| 3.9 | What Xfinity customers say | |
| 3.7 | What Spectrum customers say |
*Customer ratings based on a five star scale. Higher scores are better.
