Round Rock Residential Internet Coverage

The sprawling city of Round Rock has many of the same internet service providers as Austin, thanks to its role as one of Austin's fastest growing suburbs.

Centurylink Prism brings fiber internet to a select few Round Rock neighborhoods, including the far eastern areas of Deerfield Village, Garden Park, Greengate, and Country View Estates.

CenturyLink has a large DSL service area in Round Rock, starting at I-35 and cover the entire area east of the highway. Service is offered as far west as Westport, Greenhill, and Twin Ridge, stretching east to the city limits near Pflugerville Acres and Shallow Creek.

With both DSL and fiber internet networks, AT&T makes internet accessible to the entire city of Round Rock.

Frontier Communications offers consistent service to the part of Round Rock that lies east of I-35. The service area extends as far south as Spring Ridge, excluding southeastern communities like Highland Park, Royal Pointe, and Springbrook.

Time Warner Cable is one of the largest internet service providers in this city, with a service area covering all of Round Rock and extending well beyond city limits.

Through Suddenlink Communications, much of eastern Round Rock has access to high-speed cable internet. Their service runs as far north as Vizcaya and Teravista, reaching south to Hollybrook Ranch and Windermere.

Going further, the central part of Round Rock is covered by Grande Communications, which serves the central neighborhoods of Ryan's Crossing, Rainbow Park, Hidden Acres, Chandler Creek, and Rolling Ridge.

Speed is ok if for some reason you are able to get a steady connection. Not a day goes by that I don't have to reset the modem to get moderately consistent speeds. I would gladly switch providers but my area only does spectrum or I would of switched a long time ago to something the same price with x5 the internet speed. Look at all other providers before spectrum.

The router provided by Time Warner made our internet sluggish and when I bought my own router to use it was a big increase in speed. On top of that, it took nearly a month after signing up for them to send a technician and to actually have the services up and running. Then after all of that they attempted to charge for all the downtime. Now, the speed is decent, I don't have many other options for speeds I need in my area so the price fits out of need, and the service is okay and has only had interruptions twice in nearly eight months.

Service can be a bit spotty. If there are any issues with the bill it's usually a hassle to deal with them and returning a modem is time consuming.

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Round Rock? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
