Ocala Residential Internet Coverage

With a wide variety of residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, and business parks, Ocala needs reliable internet around the clock.

CenturyLink Prism is one of the main fiber internet providers in Ocala, serving nearly 100% of the city.

AT&T provides DSL and fiber coverage to outlying parts of Ocala and surrounding communities, but it does not currently offer internet service to the majority of Ocala.

Cable internet from Xfinity is available in select Ocala neighborhoods, including Northeast Ocala, Silver Springs, Southeast Ocala, Belleview, and Dunnellon. However, Xfinity does not cover the northwest part of Ocala. Charter and Time Warner Cable have fairly restricted coverage in Ocala and the surrounding neighborhoods, as well.

One major provider in Ocala is Brighthouse Networks. Southeast Ocala, Summerfield, Belleview, Southwest Ocala, and Dunnellon can choose Brighthouse Networks. The northern half of the city is not within this company's coverage area.

I just started using AT&T Wireless as my carrier 2 1/2yrs ago, and it's so hard to think about leaving Lol.. Their app is super user friendly. The automated system is SO accommodating to customers' needs, especially when it comes to extensions on bill paying. They truly understand that they're not your only bill, & that "life happens" constantly! Lol Their phone equipment is high quality & durable. My visits to the neighborhood AT&T Store are so delightful thanks to the very professional, personable, & extremely knowledgeable staff. Yes, Mgr Ariana, Kelly, Amy & my all time FAVE Brian make it such a comfortable home like environment that it's hard to leave! And they're not short on the chuckles either! Brian has assisted me every time I've been in to the store so far, & you'll never meet such a well mannered, patient, confident, thoughtful young man. Very easy on the eyes too!

Internet goes out often. It’s difficult to get a live person in the phone and they tend not to listen. They make excuses and are overall unresponsive. I would not recommend them and we are actively looking for an alternative.

This company tells me that my area is not worthy of high speed internet, so I purchase what is available, but what they give me 90% of the time is under, way under and last night it was as bad as dial up.

My speed for what we do on the Internet is outstanding, about thirty five mbs. That's why I gave five stars for teriffic speed. We have one desktop and two iPads. We also have two smart phones and a smart tv. Never an issue with slowing down. When my grandsons are here add two more smart phones, still no problem. I feel the pricing is ok, it's less that what I paid with another provider in a different state for the same service. The service both on the phone and when a tech comes out is exactly what I expect. Treat me with respect and get my problem resolved, what more can I ask for. I have had an occasion to go to the local office to replace some equipment and found them to be wonderful.

They have the WORST customer service since AOL! I am promised a rate and then get a bill for double that. Then, you call and are left on hold forever trying to get it straightened out. Looking for an internet provider that keeps their word. Wonder if there is one?

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Ocala? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
