They have a lack of transparency when it comes to service. They often have outages without communication and when you have a problem where you are the only customer impacted they have little or no support if it is on their end. They seem to have no service levels or urgency levels internally to get things fixed once an issue has passed tier 1 support. If you read their agreements you can't hold them liable for anything regardless of service. If you ever have an issue with them that cannot be resolved at tier 1 you will be dead in the water with no communication from their tier 2 plus support. I do not recommend them if you have a business that required constant service. In fact they have hung up on me 2 times today on this 4 day of outage.

Internet cuts out all the time, the tower is always being repaired when you call for tech support. Your internet is always "working just fine" even though you can't connect to the google homepage. Remember if you're buying with these guys divide the internet speed by 10 to find your true speed! Are they promising 50 MBS? Nope, it's 5 on average. It'll be 10 on a sunny day for short burts, maybe 12 if you're lucky. It will peak at 50 once every nine hours for roughly seven minutes before plummeting to the steady 5 it will be until you call their tech support. The MOMENT you call tech support it jumps up to where it's supposed to be at for the duration of your call and up to five (5) minutes afterwards. Then it just goes back down.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
