DSL provides internet service via phone cables and is up to ten times faster than dial-up service.

Cable:

Cable provides internet speeds faster than DSL through the same cables used for cable TV.

Satellite:

Satellite internet is widely available, but offers slower speeds due to a far-traveling signal.

Fiber:

Fiber relies on glass strands to relay digital code and is much faster than both DSL and cable.

I tried for 2 solid months for Spectrum to help me lower my bill and maintain a loyal customer of over 20 years. I spent multiple hours on the phone with multiple people. Every time they would tell me one offer and then then it would end up being different. I went into the store 2 different times once again spending hours trying to work something out. They ultimately offered my Spectrum Choice 15 (ridiculous service) and a XUMO stream box (absolute junk). I couldn't take it anymore and have changed to You Tube TV and have never been happier. Spectrum business model needs real help. You have no interest in maintaining your existing loyal customer base rather you want to offer new folks a way better deal. Then literally a week after I cancel you send me this offer for $79.99 and then a week later same deal for $69.99. I will never again use Spectrum because of the horrible customer service experience.

Had them for 30 years raised my bill 5 times in last year. I would not get them if your looking. They changed not willing to help you on better deal. Paying 87 just for internet say it's going to raise to 111 next year. I'm going elsewhere. Friends and neighbors have spectrum. They all pay lower 70"s all pay different price. People are rude. I advise you go elsewhere.spectrum sucks

Live in a small town or suburb outside of Kearney? We got you covered, too.

Methodology

HighSpeedInternet.com compares internet providers within cities and metro areas to give customers the most relevant insights into their internet options. When comparing providers, we consider the following:

  • Provider coverage areas
  • Advertised speeds
  • Real-world speeds (speed test data)
  • Customer feedback
  • Other relevant localized data

We source localized coverage data displayed on our coverage maps from the FCC coverage database, which is updated every six months. For the most current summary of providers in your area, we recommend you use our zip code search tool, which offers the most recent coverage data straight from internet service providers (ISPs).

Our city overviews compare advertised provider speeds. We may also include real-world speed data gathered from millions of annual speed test results. To process our speed test data, we first filter out outliers and providers with low test counts. We then calculate speed averages with every ISP subject to the same parameters.

We gather ISP customer feedback data from our comprehensive annual surveys and direct customer feedback submitted to HighSpeedInternet.com. Unless stated otherwise, average ratings are calculated nationally.
